🔍 What’s Going On in #2

In Batman #2, we see Robin (Tim Drake) pushed to his limits. After being injured, he’s cuffed and shoved into the back of a GCPD paddy wagon surrounded by violent criminals. No backup. No clear escape. He’ll have to rely on everything he’s learned from Bruce Wayne to make it out alive.

Meanwhile, the issue raises the stakes between Batman, Robin, and Gotham City’s law enforcement. Will the Dark Knight get to him in time? And how will this incident shift public opinion of the Dynamic Duo?

Although it pushes the tension further, Batman #2 remains readable for new readers; the run is designed so each issue can stand alone while weaving into a larger ongoing narrative.

🎨 Visual & Thematic Highlights

  • The new creative team is continuing their aesthetic shift: Jiménez is exploring refreshed visuals for Gotham, and the costume re-design (with a more classic blue & gray palette) carries through.
  • The tone feels bold and cinematic—dark, but with a clarity and energy that foregrounds heroics (not just grit).
  • The storytelling balances “one-and-done” beats with deeper threads that reward following the whole run.

Overall not a great week for comics as everyone is making releases next week for New York Comic Con
